Stove Handover & User Guidance

Once your stove is installed, we don’t just leave you to figure it out. We provide a full handover session, covering:

• Which fuels to use (Woodsure/Ready to Burn, under 20% moisture) and sustainability advice.
• How to light the stove using kindling, firelighters, and the top-down method.
• How to refuel safely and efficiently, following manufacturer instructions.
• How to use air controls, manage heat output, and shut down the stove safely.
• The dangers of incorrect use (e.g. slumbering the stove).
• How to keep ventilation grills and air supplies clear.
• How to clean and maintain your stove.
• How to test your carbon monoxide alarm.
• Explanation of all paperwork: Notice Plate, Commissioning Report, User Instructions, HETAS Certificate of Compliance, and Warranty Documents.

We’ll also walk you through the importance of annual sweeping and servicing by a competent person, recommended by HETAS at least once a year. Finally, we’ll issue your compliance paperwork and obtain your signature to confirm you understand the installation.
